Funding Neuro’s founder and a group of his closest long-term supporters completed a grueling week-long trek in September, conquering one of Scotland’s toughest outdoor challenges.
Bryn Williams and friends finished the 96 mile West Highland Way Walk on Saturday 9th September at 5pm, greeted by a jubilant welcome party, gathered at the famous granite obelisk monument in Milgavnie town centre.
A tired and jubilant Bryn said: “I’m very happy to be home. This final day especially reminded me how hard the daily battle with Parkinson’s is and will continue to be until we find its cure.”
Forty friends, family, and staff from Funding Neuro joined Bryn over the week to support the fundraising feat – which remembers fond memories of the first ever Wobbly Williams West Highland Way Walk in 2008.
Sharon Kane, Funding Neuro’s CEO, who took part in the Walk, after the event said: “I am so proud of all of us – especially Bryn – for surmounting an unbelievably challenging excursion. I would also like to thank everyone who put money in our walker’s collection boxes or donated online. It all goes to Funding Neuro and helps us move the charity forward another decade!”
