Marathon du Medoc 7th September
Chris John on the 7th of September will be taking part in the Marathon du Medoc in Pauillac, France. Raising money for the Motor Neuron Disease appeal, Chris will be taking on a very different kind of marathon. The course stretches 26.2 miles through scenic vineyards of the area with competitors in fancy dress like most other fun runs. However in this marathon the runners are encouraged to enjoy a casual 23 glasses of wine as they make their way round the course but don’t worry there is also plenty of local delicacies oysters, foie gras, cheese, steak and ice-cream to soak it all up. Making this one of the best sounding Marathon experiences we have heard of!
We wish Chris the best of luck and look forward to hearing how well he does.

‘I’m Shaving My Head for Motor Neurone Disease’
On the 12th of September Joe Ballinger is braving the shaver for a great cause. Joe will go under the chop, shaving his head to raise money for the Motor Neuron Disease appeal. A cause dear to him as he explains…
“Hey guys, OK, so I’ve been wanting to do something for this charity for some time now. This is because sadly my Gran was taken from us by this horrible disease. Nan passing from MND just goes to show that no one in this world is safe from anything, so live every day like it’s your last and smile as much as you can. I’m doing this to raise money for the charity that can help to hopefully one day cure this brutal and devastating disease. We will remember her in a positive way, for the amazing charismatic and wonderful lady she was. This is for you nan :)” Joe Ballinger.
There is currently no cure for the condition but with the commitment of people like Joe, we can make that difference!

Matt Does a Run
The Great Scottish Run 10K
A great friend of the charity Matt Wilson is helping to raise money for the on going work of Funding Neuro, by lacing up his running shoes and taking part in the great Scottish run. The Great Scottish Run 10k takes place on the 29th of September starting at George Square and finishing at Glasgow green.
So I would never have been described by any of the people who know me as a runner. Yet here I am entering and planning to do a run.
I started running for myself and my family, to get fit, to live longer and to stop being such a massive fatty. It wasn’t meant to be anything beyond that. Then I was held up in traffic by The Great Scottish Run 2018 and that started me thinking….what if I did that?
So I entered the 10k (not at all ready for a half marathon) to set myself a challenge.
Once I had done this I was looking for a Glasgow based charity which I really felt a connection with.
Step forward Funding Neuro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have worked with these guys as a tech and production manager on their fundraising events for a couple of years now and think what they are doing and how they go about it is simply brilliant.
So here we are I am (yes me, Matt Wilson) running the 10k for Funding Neuro. Please give generously and feel free to come along and watch me stagger across the line (hopefully :D)
